LPG Assistant Operator

SwissChemGas is an international LPG trading and shipping company. The company controls a fleet of 13 vessels (chartered in) transporting over 3m MT of LPG per year, across 20 countries.

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Operator who will work on the following responsibilities:

• Assist on daily operational matters on time- and voyage-chartered vessels (voyage orders, monitoring vessels’ consumptions/performance, checking relevant LOIs)
• Assist on daily cargo operations (documentation instructions, issuing Letters of Credit)
• Appoint agents and carry out exchanges and all necessary correspondence including checking disbursements
• Calculating and analyzing all demurrage costs
• Issuing product invoices and follow up on payments

You will report directly to the Operations Manager while also coordinating with the traders and accounting departments.

Qualifications: 

• 3-5 years experience preferably in the tanker operations department of a shipping company 
• University degree 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, other languages are beneficial
• IT skills: Microsoft office
