Job description

Title: Vessel Manager (Commercial Tanker Operator)

Office: Piraeus, Greece

Reports to: Head of Operations

Main Function:

Coordination and control of all cargo/voyage information between brokers, masters, agents, and ship owners/managers.

To devise and implement the most economical voyage plan consistent with customer, charter party, and regulatory requirements for each assigned ship.

Provide other operational functions as required by team.

Duties:

• Respond to the chartering department providing input/data necessary for potential fixtures (i.e. prepare questionnaires; provide intakes and ETA’s, etc.).
• Manage the ship’s commercial trading through voyage planning consistent with port/terminal and regulatory restrictions.
• Review and provide Master with appropriate voyage orders, port information, and any applicable restrictions within the port.
• Ensure that the ship and voyage operations are in compliance with operational aspects of the voyage charter parties.
• Authorize ship’s cargo capability and capacity
• Ensure invoices are generated accurately and timely as required.
• Ensure that ship owner and ship comply with operational aspects of time charter parties as appropriate.
• Develop and implement timely solutions to cargo and voyage-related trading issues.

Competencies:

• Minimum 3 years commercial experience of tankers pertaining to owners/operator’s side of commercial operations.
• Seafaring background from deck side preferable but it is not a prerequisite for this position.
• Must have knowledge of day to day working of oil tankers and cargoes.
• Must have a valid Greece residency/ work permit
