HSQE Lead (DPA / CSO)

A growing dry bulk shipping company operating a fleet of 5 vessels is looking for an HSQE Lead (DPA / CSO) to strengthen our safety culture, compliance, and operational excellence.

This is a key role bridging ship and shore, ensuring the effective implementation of our Safety Management System (SMS) and supporting high standards across HSQE and marine operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and Company Security Officer (CSO)
• Oversee implementation and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System (SMS)
• Monitor compliance with ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, flag state and class requirements
• Support vessels in PSC, RightShip, and Class inspections (prep & follow-up)
• Track and close non-conformities, incidents, and corrective actions
• Conduct/participate in internal audits, navigation audits, and safety reviews
• Coordinate crew training, drills, and safety initiatives
• Monitor vessel condition in collaboration with the technical team
• Serve as the main link between fleet and shore on HSQE matters

Requirements

• Maritime/Marine Engineering/Naval Architecture/ Maritime Business degree or Seagoing experience (minimum Chief Officer) 
• Previous shore-based experience in HSQE or compliance/marine operations
• Strong understanding of international maritime regulations & inspections
• Hands-on experience with audits, drills, and incident management
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Proactive mindset with attention to detail
