Client Relationship Manager

Job Description 

  • Identify and originate business opportunities in terms of deposit, working capital facility, syndicated facility, shipping finance, project finance, M&A loans, trade finance, etc. 
  • Acquire and establish connection with new customer in Greece, including Greek financial institutions, tier-1 Greek corporations, subsidiaries of Multi-national corporations in Greece, Chinese corporations in Greece, tier-1 Greek shipowners, etc. 
  • Coordinate and support the transaction process, including drafting due diligence report, attending credit committee, assist in gathering KYC documentation, support communication on transaction documentation, provide local market updates to assist post-loan monitoring, etc. 
  • China International Import EXPO, CIIE: Liaison with Enterprise Greece or other official trade institutions in Greece to hold CIIE marketing event in Greece, invite Greek politicals to attend CIIE event in Shanghai to address speech. 
  • Invite local tier-one corporations to join the China-Europe Business Council (CEBC, arranged by ICBC). 
  • Market Greek financial institutions and sovereign institutions to invest in China Inter-bank Bond market, and also to conduct custody business with ICBC. 
  • Draft 4-6 local market research reports, with topics focusing on Greek macro-economy, key industries, etc 
  • Complete other tasks required by the country head. 

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Maritime Studies, or a related field (MBA preferred). 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in corporate or commercial banking, with at least 2 years focused on the shipping sector. 
  • Prior experience in the shipping or maritime industry is highly desirable. 
  • Knowledge of global trade, logistics, and shipping finance is considered a plus. 
  • Existing network in the maritime or shipping sector is an advantage. 
  • Proven track record in relationship management and business development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with credit analysis and financial modeling. • Proficiency in banking software and Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Multilingual capabilities, fluency in English and Greek. Chinese would be a plus due to global client base. 
  • Existing network within the shipping and maritime finance community is considered a plus.
